Plagiarism Policy

1. Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity using iThenticate or Turnitin before they are sent out for peer review. A manuscript is screened with one of the two, not both. Screening is carried out by the editorial office on the anonymised manuscript file.

Manuscripts above this threshold are returned to the authors for revision or rejected without review. A high similarity index concentrated in a single source is treated as more serious than the same index distributed across many correctly cited sources; the editors assess the report, not only the percentage.

2. What Counts as Misconduct

The journal considers the following unacceptable:

• Verbatim copying of text, tables or figures without attribution
• Paraphrasing without citation, including translated passages from another language
• Self-plagiarism and redundant publication — reusing substantial parts of one's own published work without disclosure
• Data fabrication or falsification
• Inappropriate authorship attribution — ghost, gift or guest authorship, and the omission of contributors who meet authorship criteria
• Image manipulation that misrepresents the underlying data

4. Author Responsibility

By submitting to intWOJDE, authors confirm that the manuscript is their own original work, that it has not been published elsewhere, and that it is not under consideration by another journal. Where material from the authors' own earlier work is reused, this must be disclosed in the cover letter and cited in the manuscript.

The use of generative artificial intelligence tools must be disclosed. Such tools cannot be listed as authors, and the authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of the submitted text.
